1. Which workout did you kill this week?
I killed them all! You gotta attack the workout, don't let it attack you! My group and I are definitely workout out hard over here.
2. How does training for the NFL differ from training in high school?
Right now the objectives are a little bit different. Training in high school or even in college, you're training to be ready to play. Right now, the training I'm doing is more geared towards tests and drills that are coming up for me. Both are concentrated on making me stronger, faster, and more explosive, but there's just a bit of a difference with the different goals. Also, coming from high school, I was a three sport athlete so I was almost always in-season meaning I didn't really get much of a true and intense off-season weights program other than in the summers. So I think as I went into college and now here, my workouts have definitely become more intense and focused.
3. What was your favorite meal?
My favorite meal was a roast beef panini I had for lunch on Friday. It had some bell peppers and some other stuff on there and it was pretty awesome. And I got my side kale salad and some fruit.
4. What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is my Grandma Forde's Roti. She was born and raised in Grenada (an island in the West Indies/Carribean) and it's local cuisine from that area. It's awesome and I feel sorry for anybody who hasn't gotten to try it!
5. What was your motivation this week?
I'm more internally motivated so it came from within. But it doesn't hurt to here a certain song during the workout. But mostly it came from within.
6. What would you share with college and high school players out there with dreams of going to the NFL?
Don't give up on your dreams! But also remember that a dream without a plan is just a wish. You can achieve it but you need to not only work hard, but work hard with a purpose and focus on what's going to help you ultimately achieve your goals. I know it's cliche, but you also need to take care of your grades and school. I've seen a lot of good players fall by the wayside because of that, and at the end of the day, even if you have a great and successful career in football, it'll eventually come to an end. Once you have that degree, that is there for life.
7. What is your favorite TV show of all times?
Game of Thrones. House of Cards is coming up in a close second right now though. And from childhood Scooby Doo. I could still watch those old episodes!
8. How did you feel after your workouts this week?
I felt pretty sore but doing the regen session and then getting in the NormaTec compression boots on Saturday helped.
9. Motivational quote of the week:
I just saw the movie Kingsman last night (Friday) and it had a quote in there that stuck with me. It was "True nobility is being superior to your former self." It just struck a chord with me because that, at the end of the day, is all we can hope to be, the very best version of ourselves by coming better with each passing day.
10. Song that pumps you up:
Ambition by Wale came on when we were in the weight room Thursday and it definitely got me going.
